Risk Assessments Enhancements

Risk Assessment Read and Sign

This new feature allows employees to read and electronically sign risk assessments directly within the system, streamlining the process of confirming employee understanding and compliance.

  • Users can now access assigned Published Risk Assessments and acknowledge they have read and understood the content by signing off directly within the platform.

The site manager uploads a risk assessment detailing hazards like falling objects and slips, as well as control measures like personal protective equipment (PPE) and scaffold checks. Workers can access this document via their smartphones or tablets, review it, and provide their digital signature to confirm they understand the risks and safety measures before stepping on-site.

Manufacturing Example Scenario:
In a manufacturing plant, a risk assessment is prepared for operating heavy machinery, highlighting risks such as entanglement or pinch points. Machine operators are required to read the risk assessment and sign it digitally at the start of each shift or before starting a new task.

Risk Assessment PDF Export Improvements

We’ve made improvements to the output when exporting Risk Assessment’s to PDF that provides a more polished and user-friendly experience. These updates ensure clarity, professionalism, and better usability of exported documents for sharing and compliance purposes.

  • Font and Styling Consistency:

    • All text elements now follow a unified font style and size for a more professional and aesthetically pleasing appearance.

    • Improved formatting ensures a clean, easy-to-read layout, reducing confusion and presenting a consistent brand image.

  • Improved Hazard and Controls Readability:

    • Hazard descriptions and associated control measures are now clearly delineated and better organised, making it easier to review key safety information at a glance.

    • Enhanced spacing and alignment ensure crucial details are never overlooked.

  • Improved Summary Page:

    • The summary page now provides a clearer, more concise overview of key risk assessment details, making it ideal for quick reference during audits or briefings.

    • New layout improvements make it easier to navigate and extract critical information.

  • Improved Safe System of Work Summary Page:

    • The Safe System of Work section has been reorganised for greater clarity and readability.

Workers on-site access the document, review the step-by-step instructions, and sign it digitally to confirm they will follow the prescribed methods.

Manufacturing Example Scenario:
In a manufacturing facility, a method statement is provided for cleaning and reassembling production line equipment. It includes step-by-step instructions, necessary PPE, and lockout/tagout procedures. All maintenance staff are required to read and sign the method statement digitally before starting the task.

Document Management Enhancements

Our latest update makes document signing even more flexible! Users can now sign a document multiple times, which is especially helpful for SHEQ professionals who need ongoing approvals or confirmations. This added functionality supports clearer tracking and compliance, making it easier to stay aligned with safety standards.

  • Ability to sign a Document multiple times which will be tracked within the Read Confirmation Log that allows users to demonstrate a audit trail compliance.

Construction Example Scenario:

In construction, a foreman may need to sign a risk assessment at the start of a project and again after each safety review. Now, they can add multiple signatures to the same document, tracking their acknowledgment as new safety updates are made.

Manufacturing Example Scenario:

In manufacturing, machine operators might need to sign off on daily equipment inspections. With this update, they can sign the same checklist throughout the week, each time they inspect the equipment, providing a clear record of compliance.

Incident Management Enhancements

We’ve introduced enhancements to the status colour system in incident reports to visually guide users through each stage of an investigation. These updates ensure a more intuitive user experience by making it easier to identify the progress of incident investigations at a glance.

We’ve enhanced our platform’s multilingual support with improvements to Spanish and Dutch translations and the addition of Portuguese as a supported language. These updates ensure a smoother and more inclusive user experience for a global audience.

  • Greater Accessibility: Expanded language support ensures a seamless experience for Spanish, Dutch, and Portuguese-speaking users, enhancing usability and inclusivity.

  • Improved Clarity: Better translations and localised terminology help users navigate the system with confidence, reducing errors and miscommunications.

  • Broader Reach: Portuguese support opens up the platform to new markets and users, particularly in Brazil and Portugal. 

Technical Debt

At Notify we call this ‘keeping our lights on!!'. Essentially this is about good housekeeping to ensure the infrastructure, code, third party components and the plumbing we use is maintained, secure and in good working order.

Scheduled Downtime

We are really looking forward to delivering this version to you. There will be scheduled period of downtime on the evening of Wednesday 04th December to allow us to introduce these new features into Notify. We will endeavour to keep any disruption to a minimum.
